Rafael Velazquez

Coach “Rafa” Velazquez joins the Cardiff Mustangs staff this year, having been recruited by DOC Kraig Chiles through his training with the San Diego Sockers Reserves. Rafa has been playing with the Reserves since rupturing his achilles while playing with the Tacoma Stars. Rafa brings a variety of coaching and training experiences to the club, and we are excited to have him join our community.  A graduate of the University of San Diego, Rafa played USD Men’s Club Soccer for three years, during which the team made it to the national tournament twice and were awarded 3rd place during one of their tournament runs. He was assistant coach for the USD Men’s club team in 2009, and coached the Valhalla Elementary School girls soccer team, third and fourth grade, for two seasons.
